Cardigan Bay Coast | Wales | UK

Cardigan Bay Coast is one of the really great coastlines in the UK to explore. From Cardigan in Southern Ceredigion, northwards through Aberystwyth and Dyfi Biosphere and up into Southern Snowdonia, this is the perfect location for your coast or country holiday in the UK.

Why not leave the car for a day and take a stroll on a section of the Wales Coast Path, enjoy the many local cycle routes, or a day out on the Cambrian Coast Railway, and make sure you keep a watch out for dolphins and seals!

Cardigan Bay Coast is dotted with towns and villages along its way - these include Cardigan, Aberaeron, New Quay, Aberystwyth, Aberdovey, Barmouth and Harlech.

Why not take one of the many wildlife tours, visit a nature reserve and you may even spot an osprey or a pod of dolphins in Cardigan Bay if you are very lucky.

Cardigan Bay Coast has a wealth of historic sites and things to do. We recommend a day trip to Llanerchaeron (National Trust Property), Harlech Castle (World Heritage Site), Strata Florida (Cadw). A visit to the National Library of Wales at Aberystwyth is a great way to find out more about this historic country or sit back and enjoy the countryside on one of the historic railways.

History & Heritage

Castell y Bere

Tywyn

Deep in the mountainous heart of mid Wales, nestling at the foot of Cadair Idris, lie the ruins of Castell y Bere. An atmospheric site, it is an outstanding example of a stronghold of the native Welsh princes.
