Children's Activity Event

Go wild this action-packed summer with exciting Wetland Explorer challenges throughout the holidays! Grab your free logbook from Wetland Explorers HQ (by the Water Lab) and head out into the wild for some unforgettable experiences.

Join an expert to rifle under rotten logs, leaves and soil to uncover a minibeast metropolis, and discover aquatic creatures with incredible stories in our pond-dipping sessions. Then, build a den and let off steam in the Explore play area before meeting our flamingos and their adorable chicks at our daily talk.

You can also join our Wetland Rangers on an expedition around the reserve to look for wildlife and see the natural world in a new light.

Complete your logbook by collecting stamps from all of these great activities:
Den Building: all day;
Explore Play: all day;
Minibeast Hunt: 10am - 10.30am;
Pond Dipping: 11am - 12 noon;
Ranger Training: 1pm - 2pm;
Fantastic Flamingos: 2.30pm - 3.15pm.

Plus, NEW for 2019 –
Monday Moth Mornings - Every Monday morning (10am) during the summer holidays, Explorers can join our friendly rangers at Wetland HQ to see what’s been attracted to our moth trap overnight and enjoy close up encounters with a multitude of species. Not to be missed!

Bushcraft for Beginners - Special bushcraft activities every Wednesday. Want to learn some new skills in the great outdoors? Join our bushcraft expert for a different exciting hour-long workshop each week (11am -12pm, 12pm - 1pm, 1pm - 2pm). Session topics include camouflage, surviving the 'Viper's Nest' (prepare to get wet!), creating your own tree dryad from clay, making natural cord bracelets, slip bark whistles, and much more! All included in admission. Please check our social media for the latest updates.

We'll also have crafts available at around 3.30pm each day (if Explorers still have any energy left to use up!)
