Maindee Festival at Newport City

The annual Maindee Festival and Parade, held each July is a popular community arts event to all residents in Newport.

We use arts activities to bring together people of different ethnicity and cultural background, age, abilities, geographical location and faith communities.

The Maindee Festival street parade is a wild and colourful celebration of our diverse local cultures. Two thousand local people get dressed up and take to the streets to wend their way to the Festival site. They are supported by giant figures and bands of musicians. It is a real spectacle
