The BIG SKILL weekend 11th 12th May at the National Park Visitor Centre will provide a family day out with a range of rural skills and local crafts workshops and demonstrations for visitors to participate in and enjoy.
The aim is to provide a 'hands on rural skills' experience; opportunities to register for more in depth and accredited courses. Art and craft workshops and crafts made from waste by-products.
Activities for children include:- clay workshops, with Rebecca Buck; stone sculpture, with Alun Evans; Recycle Workshops, for all the family - paper, card, glass & textile making and re-use (everyone goes home with their own piece of art creation), with Ten Green Bottles, Textiles in the Community; 'Milking' the Cow, with Bessie from Usk Museum; photos with Birds of Prey, with Falconry UK; storytelling with Brenda Williams (The Shop of Magical Things); mask making with Take Part; felt making, with Hannah Kemp; Samba Workshops, with Lynn Kay; bouncy castle, with Jerry the tump.
