Penarth

You can reach Penarth easily by train, bus or boat and there is plenty to do with its gift shops, several stylish cafes, galleries and delicatessens to keep you occupied, and there are a number of nice walks through landscaped gardens dating from the Victorian era, or along the cliff tops with plenty of benches along the way to enjoy the views and breathe in the sea air.

At the foot of Penarth hill, the marina offers a modern new face, with its waterfront homes and its collection of yachts This part of town is also linked to Cardiff Bay by ferry and boasts access to the Cardiff Bay Barrage.

A little to the south of Penarth is Lavernock Point where Marconi succeeded in the first ever radio transmission over water to Flat Holm island in the Bristol Channel.
