Brecon Beacons national park can be reached from the South by the M4 and M50 motorways. M4: Leave junctions 24 (A449/A40 for Abergavenny) or 32 (A470 for Merthyr Tydfil) to access the south of the park. M50: Continue on to the A40 when the motorway terminates at Ross on Wye and follow to Abergavenny. The A470, A438 and A465 gives access to the north of the park from Mid-Wales, Herefordshire and West Midlands.
Railway stations to the west of the park are via the Heart of Wales line at Ammanford, Llandeilo and Llandovery. Access to the south and east of the park via Merthyr Tydfil and Abergavenny stations.
