Start Canal Road Parking Place (at Theatre) GR047 283
From car park find start of canal and follow canal towpath/Taff Trail for 4.5km to road. Follow Taff Trail along road for 8km to Talybont. Turn R at White Hart climbing up over bridge continuing along Taff Trail. After 2.5km fork L onto Brinore Tramway. SO following Brinore Tramway for 4.5km to top of forest. Turn R downhill following forest boundary. SO across Taff Trail, through ford, and onto metalled road. Turn L and follow road for 4.5km (includes big climb).
Turn R into forest (Taff Trail) and follow level track for 2km onto metalled road. Fork R, following edge of forest on stoney track. SO over The Gap and back down (approx. 7km).
SO onto metalled road down over bridge, back up, turn L then take 2nd R and past Cefn Centref Farm. Shortly after where road goes hard R, turn L onto track. Follow track all the way to Brecon. At School turn R then R again at main street. SO over bridge and SO at traffic lights. After a few hundred metres turn R back to car park.
