Heron Bedroom, Gwaenynog Farmhouse

About

Gwaenynog is a beautiful bed and breakfast in a quiet area about a mile from Dolanog and a 5-minute drive from Llanfair Caereinion in Mid Wales, an area of outstanding beauty. We are at approx. 600 feet above sea level, so have some amazing views, including the imposing presence of Moel Bentyrch.

You will be assured of a warm welcome at our quality bed and breakfast. There are extremely comfortable beds, powerful showers, sumptuous and generous towels, fragrant shower gels and shampoos, a choice of teas and coffee in all the rooms with fresh milk, flat screen TV’s with Freeview & DVD players, and if you must, free Wi-Fi; all with varying views from every window.

After a relaxed night's sleep rise for a leisurely cooked breakfast of locally produced ingredients or perhaps something lighter. Our breakfasts are plentiful and varied – made for vegetarians & vegans too - all made from the best local produce.

We have a box of games available - e.g.: Cluedo, Game of Life, Monopoly, Backgammon - to name a few.

Map & Directions

Road Directions

From Welshpool, keep following the signs for the A458 – signposted Dolgellau and Machynlleth, heading west for approx 12 miles.

Once through Cyfronydd, there is a right turn signposted Dolanog and Meifod on the B4382. It’s on a sharp left bend on the A458, but there is a filter lane for turning right.
You take the second left, signposted Dolanog.

At the crossroads, go straight across. It’s also signposted to Dolanog on B4382.
After approx two miles (it does seem longer, but keep going) take the second left and you head up the hill. (NB: There is no signpost on this turning.)

At the junction at the top, you turn left. The signpost says Dolanog to the right. (Any satnav will be taking you to the right at this junction, to the next door farm.)

Once turned left, our drive is the first on the left after about 300 yards, set-back from the road. The drive is about 130 yards, then park where indicated by the signs, between the barns.
