Details

Welcome to Bodalwyn Guest House, where no effort is spared to ensure you enjoy the highest level of personal service and a truly relaxing experience.

With all the discreet charm of an exclusive private residence, our carefully-restored Edwardian town house blends old world elegance with contemporary comfort, providing a quiet haven from the bustle of modern life.

The perfect base from which to explore all that mid-Wales has to offer, Bodalwyn offers rooms of exceptional comfort, all with spacious bathrooms combining style and function. The beautiful, period interiors echo the house’s early 1900s origins, with many original features including decorative fireplaces in some rooms. Our eight comfortable rooms exhibit meticulous attention to detail and are individually decorated and furnished.

As you would expect, the timeless elegance of the décor is accompanied by all today’s essentials, including flat screen TVs and complimentary wireless internet. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities.

After a relaxing night, why not enjoy one of our every popular, Welsh takeaway breakfast bags? Either in your room or to go. Our new breakfast bags are proving very popular with our guests, modelled on the breakfast bags offered by the fantastic 'Hoxton' Hotel in London– including Welsh sausages and bacon from our local butcher, continental granola & fruit pots, warm pastries and various cereals. Full vegetarian and vegan options are also offered, ask us when you check in for our daily options.

Notes

PARKING Street parking is unrestriced at all times. Outside office hours, a car park opposite the front door is available free of charge. We are happy to assist with any luggage. Cars are allowed to park in the private lane for a short period to allow for unloading of luggage. There is no public transport available due to the locality of our guest house being only a short walk from the town centre. For guests arriving in the town by public transport, there is a taxi rank at the railway station. On departure, we are willing to call a taxi on request. The nearest shopmobility is approximately 5 minutes walk away. RECEPTION FACILITIES There are no set opening times as we live on the premises and are happy to assist guests at all times during the day and for emergencies during the night. Due to the design and age of the house, access to the house is a little difficult as there are 8 steps up to the front door, all 180mm high. If necessary, guests can enter via the garden or back door as there are no steps here. The house is not suitable for wheelchair users and therefore the counter is not at a suitable height. There is seating in the reception area and the floor is level throughout. The only public area on the ground floor is the dining room which does not have toilet facilities. All doors are standard widths and at its narrowest point the corridor is 900mm wide. OTHER PUBLIC AREAS We do not have an elevator or chair lift. There are 12 stairs to the half landing and a further 3 stairs to the lowest of our rooms or a further 6 to the main landing. We are happy to reserve rooms on the 1st floor for our less mobile guests if such a request has been made at the time of booking. ACCOMMODATION Rooms are spacious but there are none available on the ground floor and therefore have not been adapted for wheelchair users. There is good colour contrast to floors and walls and room numbers are clearly signed with raised numbers. There is no room service but we will endeavour to help any way we can. There are no telephones in the rooms but there is a payphone in the main hallway. There is good mobile phone reception throughout the house. 08/10/2007
