Formerly the manor house of the Earl of Powis and a coaching stop, the Best Western Royal Oak Hotel continues to provide the best of local fare, ales, comfort and good cheer to both local and travelling folk, as it has for 350 years.

There are 24 comfortable bedrooms with an option of superior rooms if you prefer. A choice of well-equipped function and conference rooms are available, accommodating up to 150 guests.

Welshpool is the gateway to mid wales, a historic georgian border town in the Upper Severn Valley, 17 miles from Shrewsbury, within reach of Powis Castle and gardens, Montgomery Canal, Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway, Offa's Dyke as well as Powisland Museum. The roman city of Chester is only 44 miles away.
