Details
The Wynnstay Machynlleth is a friendly, quirky and charming Georgian building, once the Coaching Inn for the Shrewsbury Stage. It is a rather quirky building abounding in atmosphere and personality. The restaurant appeals to gourmets and hungry locals and travellers. Open fires, log stoves. Excellent wines and real ales. "This one is different", said Martin Bright in The Observer.
Top quality food is what drives The Wynnstay. Meals that are appreciated by gourmets and farmers, leisurely travellers and hard-working business people, locals and foreigners. A place where people meet and talk and make new friends. Friendly atmosphere and friendly staff are as important as the quality of the food and drink.
The Wynnstay directly imports all its own wines from vineyards in Italy, so they are of his quality but excellent value. A selection of local real ales and cider.
Nothing about the Wynnstay is corporate, although it is appreciated by many business travellers as a home from home. The building is rambling and offers much more space that expected. Log stoves and open fires throughout the public areas. The furnishings are antiques and country style.
Bedrooms: singles, standard doubles & twins, family rooms and superior/four-poster bedrooms are available. All rooms have modern, en suite bathroom facilities with sumptuous towels, remote control colour television, hair-drier and tea & coffee making facilities.
Disabled access to ground floor. Being an 18th Century Inn, wheel chair access to upper floors is difficult and not practical. Well behaved dogs are accepted by arrangement. There is provision for cycle and motorcycle lock up.
There are flexible meeting rooms close by in the town. For Conferences, Sales Meetings, Team Building or Entertaining for businesses, government organisations or private groups, the Wynnstay offers something personal, distinctive and different.
The Wynnstay is fortunate to have access to an abundance of wonderful, fresh, local produce: the best lamb and beef in the world (Oh, yes, we do!), sea fish from Cardigan Bay, including wild sea bass, crab & lobster; and when in season, game such as pheasant, duck, partridge, woodcock; and wild salmon, sea trout, brown trout. We also enjoy brilliant Welsh cheeses and some wonderful wild mushrooms, Porcini, Chanterelles, etc.
Bike & motorbike lock-up Children welcome from any age.
