Luxury self-catering accommodation with Spa on the fringes of one of Britain's last great wildernesses near to Lake Vyrnwy and on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park.
Cyfie Farm offers excellent five star self-catering accommodation with a Hot Tub and Sauna Spa and is the perfect stylish retreat. It is one of the few remaining places in the UK where complete silence can still be experienced, with no background traffic noise or light pollution and is ideal for viewing clear starry skies.
The accommodation consists of 4 luxury cottages, converted from 17th Century barns, having a wealth of original features.
Wheat and Barley are both one bedroom cottages and can accommodate up to two guests in each. Well behaved pets are welcome in Barley cottage by prior arrangement.
Shepherds Watch is a two bedroom, two bathroom cottage with the bedrooms downstairs and living room and kitchen on the first floor, enabling you to make the most of the breathtaking views across the valley.
Sheep Dip is a two bedroom, two bathroom cottage with a bedroom on both the ground and first floor. Well behaved dogs are welcome in this cottage by prior arrangement.
All the cottages are set up with everything you may need for a self catering holiday, including; bedding and towels, fully equipped kitchens and Wi-Fi. Each cottage has its own outside seating area with chairs and tables and there is ample parking.
Guests also have access to our beautiful prize winning NGS gardens with spectacular views. Our wonderful Hot tub and sauna spa are also available for guests and is booked exclusively for your use at a charge of £20 per hour.
Cyfie farm also has facilities for you to bring your own horse with stabling and an adjoining paddock. Hacking is available direct from the farm and the Dyfnant Forest Rainbow Trails can be found near to Lake Vyrnwy offering 125km of tracks.

Cyfie Farm is in a remote and isolated spot, 1.5 miles from the nearest village (with a tea room and small quaint pub). The farm is at an altitude of 800 feet and the views across the width of Wales are a spectacular feature and can be seem from all our suites of rooms. A car is useful to get around as there is scant public transport although the neighbouring farm runs a taxi and minibus service which can be booked easily. The nearest railhead is at Welshpool some 14 miles away. There is many typed and difficulties of walks from the farmhouse and in the local area. Good mobile phone reception outside and variable inside buildings with stone walls (good by all windows). There is an almost complete absence of background traffic noise, although we are in a low fly zone and there is sometimes sudden aircraft noise. The sights and smells of the countryside are all around with a plethora of flora and fauna; there are badgers in the garden together with many types of birds which feed daily from feeders. There is some farm activity with cows, sheep and horses in the adjacent fields ; there are also 6 farm cats and a chocolate labrador - Chewy. No pets are allowed in any of our accommodation and bedding has no feather with poly cotton covers and sheets some wool blankets. The lovely gardens, of about an acre, are part of the National Garden Scheme and are terraced with some narrow paths, (both concrete and wood chipped) some steps and slopes. The 2 summerhouses are reached across the gardens and have outdoor and indoor seating areas. Some very steep areas are not fenced off and are not intended for access. All our bedrooms involve some steps. Some with their en suite facilities are at ground level. The hot tub and sauna are about 10-15 metres from the guest accommodation across the tarmac yard, along a narrow but level path to a fenced off but covered area of decking on which the hot tub rests with views across the valley. There ar e 3 steps into the hot tub and some dexterity is require to get in and out of the water. A short step up into the indoor area which houses the sauna and changing area. There is a separate shower room with wash basin and toilet. We have 5 suites and cottages each of which has a separate entrance. You can stay all day in your own suite of rooms with external entrances. There is ample parking is on our slightly sloping tarmac farmyard within 2 metres of each suite. Assistance is available for luggage on request. Tourist information available from the proprietors. The Stable Suite Is accessed through the farmhouse entrance into the utility room then up 3 steps, through an oak stable door into the carpeted lounge with log fire, flat-screen TV, DVD and Video ( all remote controlled), fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. This room has many ornaments and curios. Up 3 steps to the shower room with large shower with seat, sink, heated towel rail and toilet. Up 6 turn then 6 more steps to the bedroom with double and single beds, blanket box, chair and dressing table; this room has character with uneven floors. Heating is oil fired central heated radiators water in shower is thermostatically controlled. The Wheat Suite is accessed after 4 steps into a lobby then into the carpeted lounge with electric fire, sofa, dining table with 2 chairs, nest of tables and coffee table, armchair, Flat-screen TV,DVD and video ( all remote controlled). Off the lounge there is a small kitchen ( normal height units) with fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, microwave and toaster. From the lounge, a flight of stairs takes you to the oak-beamed bedroom with twin beds, bedside tables, armchair and dresser and through to the en suite bathroom with thermostatically controlled shower over toilet and wash basin. The Barley Suite is accessed after 4 steps into a lobby then into the carpeted lounge with log burner, sofa, coffee table, 2 armchairs, Flat-screen TV,DVD and video ( all remote controlled). Off the lounge there is a small kitchen (normal height units) with fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, microwave, dining table with 2 chairs, and toaster. From the lounge, a flight of stairs takes you to the bedroom with super –king sized bed, bedside tables, rocking armchair and dresser and through to the bathroom with thermostatically controlled shower over, toilet and wash basin. Shepherds Watch is accessed from farmyard by a wide flight of 6 steps onto under floor heated slate flags. Single bedroom on same floor level then down 2 steps to bathroom (with toilet and double bedroom with thermostatically controlled shower over, toilet and wash basin). Also, double bedroom with en suite shower room with slight step to sit down shower, wash basin and toilet. Upstairs open plan lounge/ dining area reached by straight flight of steps from entrance with TV video, DVD Audio ( all remote controlled), log burner effect electric fire, comfy sofas, dining table and 4 chairs. This area with views over valley. Stable door opens onto views and steep and uneven granary steps to Patio area. Further sets of steps to galleried fully equipped kitchen with low ceilings. Small hatch between kitchen and dining area. Sheep Dip Cottage is accessed from courtyard by small step down onto patio then one up into small conservatory. Doors 770mm wide into entrance corridor, fully equipped kitchen with normal height units, twin bedroom with walnut antique beds, en suite steam shower with seat, washbasin and toilet and double-height open plan lounge/dining area with Lounge suite, log fire, low table, dining table and 4 chairs. Also has DVD, video and audio ( all remote controlled). All these rooms are on the same under floor heated flagged slate floor at ground level.
