Our lovely rooms have some of the best views of the fantastic countryside. The rooms have en-suite facilities and have all been designed with muted colours and the very best in soft furnishings from famous Welsh designers like Melin Tregwynt to make your stay comfortable.

Swn yr Afon (sound of the river) phonetically: soon-err-avon is a lovely home in a quiet leafy part of Brecon town (away from all traffic noise), but close enough to stroll the five-minute walk to all the shops, restaurants & pubs. The theatre and canal walking paths are also close. The sound of the garden birds and the bells of the Cathedral that frames your view from your bedroom and our lovely garden that makes it perfect.

Swn yr Afon is not one of your commercial hotels (we did that for fifteen years before opening our latest home to guests). It’s somewhere that you can enjoy a home from home break “but” with all the comfort of a five-star hotel combined with the wealth of knowledge from us with over 50 years of hospitality experience. Every detail has been well thought out. The exquisite light airy bedrooms are of the highest standard & attention to detail.

The house has a strong 'Sense of Place', which runs from photographs of the Brecon Beacons on the walls to the award wining Welsh delicacy breakfasts
