Llechwedd Mawr Lounge Diner

About

Llechwedd Mawr is splendid isolation personified. There are no neighbours. There is no Tarmac road to it (you have to drive on a well-surfaced gravel track and cross a ford to get there: a 4×4 or vehicle with good ground clearance is recommended). There is no noise (great for the soul) or light pollution (great for stargazing). It’s off the beaten track, but anything but rough and ready.

The three-bedroomed stone cottage has been immaculately refurbished with an open-plan living/dining area, neat kitchen, slate floors, leather sofas, attractive bath/shower rooms and a woodburning stove.
Bring your binoculars for big mountain views and birdwatching. Bring the map and follow the spectacular mountain road past the inky Nant-y-moch reservoir to Ponterwyd. Bring your mountain bike and walking boots.

The nearest shops, pub and restaurant are eight miles away. But you aren’t entirely unplugged from the outside world – there’s Freesat TV and wifi.

If you prefer something less remote ask Evan and Carol about the two luxury cottages they have on their own farm just a mile from Talybont.
