About

The Royal Cambrian Academy is a unique institution in Wales, an independent charity supporting Welsh Art and Artists, where art is encouraged, made, exhibited and debated. Constituted in 1882, it is the only Art Academy in Wales with royal patronage. Most members are professional artists with a connection to Wales either by birth, Welsh lineage or permanent residence.
As a centre for artistic excellence in Wales, the Royal Cambrian Academy exhibits and sells member’s work through a varied exhibition programme. It promotes up and coming artists of note and hosts periodic historic exhibitions. The gallery offers a lively venue for education, master classes open to all abilities and a retail area for locally created arts and crafts.
