Garwnant Visitor Centre is a brand new wedding venue that is bound to become a firm favourite with brides looking for something special.
The state of the art building which sits at the southern gateway to the Brecon Beacons, reopened its doors earlier this year following a £1.7m refurbishment.
Situated in Coed Taf Fawr, this beautiful slate and wood building is surrounded by idyllic waterfalls and woodland with sweeping views across the valleys making a perfect location for photographs of your special day.
Garwnant is ideal for those looking for an exclusive bespoke wedding. This beautiful venue is licensed so you can enjoy full use of the facilities for both your ceremony and reception. There is also a massive children’s play area that is guaranteed to keep your younger guests fully entertained.
Garwnant is a very versatile venue. In addition to the wedding hall, which can seat 60 in formal dining or 80 buffet style, there is an elegant facing outside terrace. This is the perfect place to greet your guests for a champagne reception with canapés or even a delicious BBQ prepared by Just Perfect’s Executive’s chefs.
Marquee Option Available
The adjoining lawn is also an ideal position for the marquee, which can hold up to 150 guests. This is an elegant setting surrounded by woodland, for your just perfect wedding breakfast. It is also the perfect place for your evening reception as you can dance the night away deep in the forest and under the stars.
The experienced Just Perfect team at Garwnant offer tailor made packages to suit all budgets using the freshest ingredients sourced only from local producers .The Chef’s have created a selection of menus including BBQ’s traditional three course banquets and buffets and also offer a bespoke service so couples can discuss with their personal Just Perfect Executive Chef.
Garwnant has plenty of onsite free parking and disabled access is available in all areas. The venue, which is part of the Brecon Beacons National Park Forests, is just five miles from Merthyr Tydfil and conveniently close to Cardiff and Swansea. You are guaranteed exclusive use of the venue and the Events team is happy to guide all couples through the pre planning stages to ensure a smooth running and worry free celebration for everyone.
Café The café is adjacent to the visitor centre and it is run by local company, Just Perfect Catering. The café serves hot and cold drinks, cakes, lunches and daily specials. It specialises in local produce ranging from Celtic Pride beef to Welsh real dairy award-winning ice cream. There are picturesque views from the restaurant area and there is outside seating for warmer days. Children's play area The children’s outdoor play area is situated near the visitor centre and picnic area. The main play area is suitable for children aged up to 8 years. The low ropes course is suitable for children aged between 7 and 15 years. All of the play equipment is of robust timber construction which blends in with the forest surroundings. The play area is maintained to a high standard by site staff it receives an annual independent RoSPA inspection. Fishing Fishing is not permitted on the Garwnant site but you can buy a permit to fish in reservoirs nearby that are managed by Dwr Cymru Welsh Water. Permits may be bought from the ticket machines on site. The cost of a permit varies according to location, size of catch, age and concessions. Please note: Sometimes we need to close or divert trails for your safety whilst we undertake maintenance work or forest operations. Occasionally we may have to close a site in extreme weather, such as high winds or snow and ice due to the risk of injury to visitors or staff. Please always follow any instructions onsite and make sure you follow any temporary diversion signs in place.

Term time: 11am to 3pm (Monday to Friday) and 11am to 4pm (weekends)
Easter and summer holidays: 10.00am to 5pm (all week)

There is a charge for onsite parking to help towards the upkeep of the site.
The parking charge per day is:
£2 for cars
£5 for minibuses
£10 for coaches
An annual season ticket is available for £20. (Please note: you need to bring coins with you for the pay and display machine, then take your ticket to the visitor centre to collect your yearly pass).
Car park entry barrier
From March to October: the car park entry barrier is open from 8am to 8pm.
From November to February: the car park entry barrier is open from 9am to 5pm.
The exit barrier has “paddles” which allow vehicles to exit the site after the entry barrier has been locked which means you may leave the site whenever you are ready.
