Art of Picton Tours

Art of Picton Tours

We are launching a series of new specialist tours exploring different aspects of the history of the Castle, the families who lived here and our vast collection of art. In February the talk will be ‘The Art of Picton Castle’, exploring the works of art in the Trust’s care. The Castle has a wonderful collection including an exquisite 16th century portrait by famed court artist Antonius Mor, whose subjects included Mary Tudor. We we also have sketches by Constable and Renoir, and paintings by Stranover, Sutherland, Kyffin Williams and some wonderful 17th century flemish landscapes. This is an opportunity to see works of art that are not often available for the public to view. The tour will be followed by refreshments in the great hall, where the art on display can be enjoyed. The guide will be available throughout to discuss and ask questions. The tour begins at 2pm and lasts approximately 90 minutes.

Ticket price includes access to the gardens and Welsh Owl Garden.

If you would like to book your place please call 01437 751326.
