Details

Join members of the resident RSPB Volunteer warden team for a relaxed walk around one of Wales' most breathtaking reserves.

Our walks have a special emphasis on seabird ecology with the breeding season in full swing. We will look at how Ramsey's history has shaped the island's bird populations, learn about one of the Pembrokeshire's most important but least known birds the Manx shearwater and discover the story of the RSPB Grassholm Island and its gannets.

We'll spot some of Ramsey's other wildlife along the way, learn about the island's history and find out what it is like to live and farm on a remove island today. Return to the farmhouse where volunteers and staff will be on and to answer any questions and refreshments will be available.

ADVANCE BOOKED OS ESSENTIAL AS WALKS ARE LIMITED TO 16 PARTICIPANTS.
To book: Please contact Thousand Island Expeditions on 01437 721721 or email: info@thousandislands.co.uk

There is a small shop on the island selling hot and cold rinks and snacks, but not sandwiches. Toilet facilities are available on Ramsey Island. It is advisable to bring warm and waterproof clothing in inclement weather, as there is no cover once out on the island trail and the boat crossing can be wet. Sunscreen and a hat are also advisable in hot weather.
