The Mind in The Cave

The Mind in The Cave

Details

Art is an essential part of being human. Cave Painting is one of the earliest, most mysterious of its forms – strange patterns and images of animals hidden deep within caverns. Its survival and re-discovery after tens of thousands of years is extraordinary! Many theories relate to the purpose and creation of these beautiful images, drawn and painted in secrecy and darkness. Join Guerilla Archaeology and award winning artist Paul Evans in a hands-on creative experiment, recreating these amazing works of art using ancient materials – and the hands, eyes and brains inherited from our Paleolithic ancestors.

This event is part of the Being Human festival, led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, in partnership with the Arts & Humanities Research Council and the British Academy. For further information please see beinghumanfestival.org.

The event is free but booking is essential - Book online or Call 0344 249 1895.
