Lucky Trimmer - Lucky Ladies Night

Lucky Trimmer - Lucky Ladies Night

Lucky Trimmer returns to Wales with an ode to womanhood and dedicates a full evening of dance and performance to female artists.

Where are all the female choreographers and why are they struggling for visibility? Even in contemporary dance, historically a territory marked out by choreographic pioneers such as Martha Graham and Pina Bausch, men seem to be much more prominent and represented on the main stages around the world.

For its second edition in Cardiff, Lucky Trimmer spotlights a series of short choreographic works that have consistently been wowing people both on and off stage and that are made exclusively by female performance makers.

Seven uniquely flavoured, bite-sized 10-minute surprises guide us through multiple journeys, taking us with them and leaving us with different recollections to hold onto. From the poetry of movement to pop-art anti-drama, we navigate our way through short yet poignant narratives and ponder the meandering of womanhood. Ladies night! is a celebration of dance for fearless explorers willing to join our quest!
