Details

Benthic - Dylan Champagne. Benthic uses an unconventional ensemble (two string quartets set up in mirror image, with two bassoons and a double bass) as a spatial and musical metaphor for the mind to explore issues surrounding mental illness, and the connection between the conscious and the subconscious.

Archipelago - Jonathan Sims. An Archipelago is a collection of islands. As John Donne states ‘No man is an island entire of itself’. A variety of pieces exploring different compositional mediums, from a wind quintet to a solo trumpet work, will form the basis of this concert.

Pride - Freddie Hill. Composer Freddie Hill presents a musical deconstruction of the iconic rainbow Pride Flag as a series of bold and distinct chamber works. The colour-blocked pieces carry a zest for life that emulates what it truly means to be an LGBTQ+ person in the 21st Century and beyond.
