Details

Annual Walking (or running) CHALLENGE EVENT held across OPEN AND CHALLENGING UPLAND TERRAIN in and around the Elan and Claerwen Valleys.
The route is waymarked in parts but MAP READING SKILLS ARE REQUIRED.
Either 13 or 20 mile courses are available. Entry Fee & Kit Check apply.

Start Times : 8.30am for 20 mile route Walkers; and 9.00am for 13 mile route and ALL RUNNERS on both routes.

Entry Fee : £10 in advance; £12 On The Day
Proceeds to local charities
CERTIFICATE : Awarded to all successful finishers

Essential Equipment to be carried for the Kit Check
OS Map Landranger 147 or Explorer 200, Compass, Whistle, Torch, First Aid Kit including a survival bag, waterproofs, enough food & drink for the day, warm clothes, proper footwear.
Entrants will need to ensure that they are physically prepared for this challenging event. All to be kitted out for a winter hill walk.

By Car: The Elan Valley is 3 miles from the town of Rhyader on an unclassified road leading from the B4518. The town of Rhyader is crossed by the main A470 (North/South) and A44 (East) roads.

By Public Transport: Rhayader has no train station (the nearest being Llandrindod Wells) but is connected by a local bus network. The Elan Valley is connected by local public transport via Rhayader on request/pre-booking ONLY.
