Brecon Baroque Festival 2017 - Ensemble Diderot - From Canzona to Sonata.

A journey through 17th-century Venetian chamber music including:
Biagio Marini - Passacaglio in G minor, Ecco a tre violini, Balletto secondo Op. 22
Giovanni Rovetta - Canzon Prima
Giuseppe Scarani - Sonata Concertata Op. 1
Dario Castello - Sonata à Quattro from ‘Sonate concertate in stile moderno’

Paris-based Ensemble Diderot is one of Europe’s most exciting original instrument chamber groups. Its performances and recordings have attracted critical acclaim and the group have held residencies at Aldeburgh, Amilly and the Fondation Royaumon. We are delighted to welcome them back to Brecon Baroque Festival with a programme exploring sonatas by Venetian masters of the 17th Century including Legrenzi, Castello and Marini.

From Hereford A483. Do not take the first signpost for Brecon on the right, instead go to roundabout and follow the sign for Brecon, carry on straight past the Army Barracks until you reach a mini roundabout and take the next turning left (Rich Way). Follow on to next mini roundabout and turn left, Theatr Brycheiniog is next to the canal basin.

From Abergavenny (A40) After the dual carriageway you will come to a main roundabout, take the road into Brecon and follow the directions as above. From Merthyr / Sennybridge Take the road into Brecon over the Usk bridge carry on straight through the town, past the statue, over a zebra crossing and approx 150 yards turn right into Rich Way. Theatr Brycheiniog is on the left by the canal.
