Details

Our fun-filled Hwyl yn yr Ardd event for all the family is back again! Designed with children in mind, this Hwyl at the Garden event will celebrate all things Wales – including music, dance, storytelling, art and sport – as well as all the usual Garden favourites.

Some of the activities to enjoy on this day include:

– Children’s Welsh clog dancing workshops: Pop on some clogs and join S4C television presenter, Tudur Philips in learning some clocsio steps.

– Clay modelling and flowery clay pots: Climb onboard the Bws dePot craft bus to create a fantasy seed pod or clay pinch pot decorated with flowers, petals and leaves inspired by the gardens! (NEW for 2019)

– Family Storytelling Walks: Join Nick Brunger for a walk around the Garden whilst listening to some wonderful tales from Wales

– Toddler Stories & Songs: Come along to these sessions dedicated to toddlers and younger children – gather around for some informal storytelling and singing!

– Virtual Reality Experiences: Try out the special virtual reality goggles and dive with Dolphins and fly like a Kingfisher with the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales, who’ll also have some marine themed activities too (NEW for 2019)

You can also explore all the Kids’ Usual Garden Favourites including: the Great Glasshouse, visit the British Bird of Prey Centre, discover the Fairy Woods, have some fun in the Adventure Playground, spot the butterflies in Plas Pilipala (the Butterfly House), climb the giant tree roots in the Ghost Forest…
