St Anno's Church, LlanannoHistoric SiteSt Anno's Church, Llananno, situated by the River Ithon, was a medieval church entirely rebuilt in 1876-7 by David Walker, architect of Liverpool and is a small single-cell church in 19th century Gothic style.
Wall tablets, a box pew adapted as a vestry, with simple geometric flower patterns, and a panel with 'David Lewis Churchwarden 1681' in raised letters, and, most importantly, the rood screen of c1500 were all salvaged from the old church. It is on its own alongside the A483 about 12 miles North of Llandrindod Wells on the West side of the road. It is very easy to miss as it is by the river below the road. A few hundred yards to the North is a lay-by with toilets. This is well sign posted and provides a very useful indication when you are close to the church. There is a large lay-by nearer the church to park in while visiting it.
