Monteverdi Vespers

Monteverdi Vespers

Royal Welsh College Chamber Choir and Badinerie; Adrian Partington conductor.

Imagine the glittering domes of St Mark’s, Venice in the early 17th century, ringing and resounding with song. To hear Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 performed live is to travel in time, and to experience some of the greatest choral music of any era. It’s a masterpiece that crosses the centuries, and it’s performed today by the superb young performers of the Royal Welsh College.
