Memories of an Unemployed Oyster

Memories of an Unemployed Oyster

Following on from the very popular one man show 'No Place like Home', which was staged at Erddig last year. Peter Read will be returning this summer with his new one man show 'Memories of an Unemployed Oyster'.

This thirty minute show charts the colourful life of Philip. Following him through his life as a performer and actor, an instructor in the Army, his time running a holiday company in Spain and his relationships with members of his family. It comes to a close as he takes over as squire of Erddig on the death of his brother Simon.

Named from a quote from Philip himself, he at one time suggested he was very happy with his life and wanted for nothing, having the needs of an 'unemployed oyster'.

There are two 30 minute performances each day at 2:00pm and 3:30pm on July 7, 14, 21 and 28 and then again on Aug 5, 12, 19 and 27. Dogs on leads are welcome on our 1,200 acre estate and into the property as far as the Midden Yard but will not be permitted through to the garden, house and stables. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the performances free of charge but normal admission to enter the property applies.
