Guided Walk

Guided Walk

The day will start at the Visitor Centre Tea Rooms where we will grab a coffee and have a chat about the day. From there we will head out to identify a variety of mountain and moorland birds expertly guided by Paul Williams who will be your leader for the day. Paul is a qualified Mountain Leader based in the Brecon Beacons and has a lifelong interest in Ornithology, especially upland species. He has carried out surveys and conservation work for the BTO and the RSPB.

Some species we will hopefully see would include Wheatear, Stonechat, Red Kite, Skylark and several other upland species. Birds we have seen on this walk include Peregrine, Ring Ouzel, Cuckoo and a Hobby.

The walk is approx. 12km with 475 metres of ascent and will take between 5-6 hours. You will need to bring your usual hill walking kit and a packed lunch
