This beautiful landscape lends itself to many activities, recreational and relaxing or adventurous and daring.The Countryside Centre hosts the Lakeside licensed restaurant serving delicious hot and cold meals. You will find a well stocked tourist information centre and gift shop here.
The park is a base for adventure activities both on and off the lake. Cycling facilities at Parc Bryn Bach include a BMX course, mountain bike trails, a racing circuit and recreational routes linking to the national Sustrans network. The cycle hire and repair shop rents out a variety of cycles for all ages, abilities and uses including Mountain bikes, recreational cycles, BMX bikes, trikes, a variety of mobility options and childrens bikes. The lakeside path is an ideal location for jogging or speed walking, the footpath is also dotted with various exercise stations for those feeling more energetic. The park has a 9 hole golf course and target driving range.
The 42 pitch caravan and campsite sits next to the lake offering great view of the park. There are also picnic areas, a playground, orienteering courses and nature trails surrounding the lake. Wildlife at the park is diverse and thriving. Water fowl are abundant and many species can be seen throughout the changing seasons. A special area has been set aside for attracting lapwings to the park that will hopefully soon be home to a resident breeding colony. It is hard to believe that in 1980, this was an industrial wasteland, exploited by the excavation of coal. Now Parc Bryn Bach is a beautiful nature reserve enjoyed by locals, visitors and wildlife.
