RSPB Newport Wetlands

RSPB Newport Wetlands

Details

As part of the Living Levels Partnership Scheme, RSPB Newport Wetlands has been working with local artists to create a range of interpretation to showcase the wildlife and heritage of the Gwent Levels. We will be joined by wildlife presenter and president of the RSPB, Miranda Krestovnikoff, who is going to unveil the bronze relief model of the Gwent Levels, and a steel etched timeline of some significant historical events that have helped shape this unique area.

We will also be opening the doors to an exhibition which includes a fascinating handling collection of replica tools and artefacts dating back as far as the mesolithic era, along with an illustrated map of the Gwent Levels, and a poem by one of Newport's celebrated poets. There will be lots to see and do, with demonstrations, activities and talks to reveal some of the amazing history and wildlife of the Gwent Levels.
