Details

The Antifreeze is a multi lap, chip timed, staggered start mountain bike endurance challenge staged at Coed y Brenin Forest Park.

The Uk’s original trail centre provides the perfect base for the event. It’s all weather trails and great tree cover provide protection from the elements while still affording spectacular views of the southern Snowdonian mountains, weather permitting. From rocky track to swooping singletrack, Coed y Brenin offers a fine mix of riding that will challenge and delight. The event is based around the Coed y Brenin Visitor Centre offering all the facilities you might want including a cafe that serves everything from hot drinks and snacks to full meals. There are showers and changing, toilets, bike wash and a well stocked bike shop to cater for all your mountain biking needs.

The route is a hand picked selection of the finest trails that the forest park has on offer. Riders can elect to ride 1, 2 or 3 laps of the 11.5km course with times recorded individually by RFID tags.

Coed y Brenin visitor centre The Visitor Centre has the following facilities: Toilets (including disabled toilets) Showers (in male, female and disabled changing rooms) Bike wash (token from visitor centre shop/information desk) Café (see above) Shop Information desk Picnic sites and BBQ There are a number of picnic tables around the main car parks within Coed y Brenin Forest Park plus many more on the waymarked walking trails. Some of the picnic tables have metal frames for holding disposable barbeques. There are also stone BBQ plinths in Glasdir and Ty'n y Groes picnic sites. Please ensure all fires are extinguished and tidied up after use.

Local public transport is available, however the nearest train station is Barmouth.

Cycle Network: NCN route 82, Lon Las (North) and Lon Las Cymru all pass through the centre.
