Details

The 2018 OVO Energy Tour of Britain begins in Carmarthenshire for the first time as we welcome 120 of the world’s top professional cyclists for Britain’s biggest professional cycle race. The Tour of Britain is British Cycling’s premier road cycling event, giving cycling fans the opportunity to see the world’s best teams and riders competing on their door step, taking place between Sunday 2 and Sunday 9 September 2018.

Starting from Pembrey Country Park, the stage takes in Carmarthen, Nantgaredig, Llanarthney, Ffairfach near Llandeilo, Llangadog and Llandovery. The Tour continues through the town and east on the A40 to Trecastle and Sennybridge (13:00/13:30) where the stage turns right to Defynnog and takes the A4215 (another King of the Mountains sector on this stretch of road) to join the A470 at Libanus (13:15.13:45). The race now heads into Brecon (13:25/13:55), through the town to the A40 then the B4558 south to Talybont-on-Usk (13:40/14:10) and Llangyndir. The Tour continues to the stage finish in Newport via Usk.
