Trail Challenge

Details

Betws-y-coed Trail Challenge takes competitors on what must be one of the toughest and most beautiful trail running courses in the UK - in fact most of our route was also used for the 2015 World Mountain Running Championships. From the start line behind St Mary's Church in Betws-y-coed both 10k and 5k routes climb up into the Gwydyr Forest where they split to allow the longer route to do a lap of Llyn Elsi, before joining back up to finish at the Waterloo Hotel.

The 10k & 5k races start at 1:00pm from the centre of Betws-y-Coed. Half an hour later at 1:30pm separate Canicross races will start; these follow the same course as the main 10k and 5K races.

Why not push your limits a little further and take part in our Bergen Challenge? It's the same as the 10k Trail, you just have to carry a 15kg pack! You start along with everyone else, and packs are weighed at the finish. There are prizes for the first male and first female to finish, and winners' names go on our Bergen Challenge Trophy. Please note: Runners must provide their own weighted backpacks.
