Details

The Celtic Trail (West) Fishguard to Swansea with two potential routes. National Route 4 goes via the coast, whilst National Route 47 is an inland route.

Together they form two loops between Carmarthen and Swansea or between Fishguard and Carmarthen

The West section of the Celtic Trail hugs many of Pembrokeshire's and Swansea's finest coastlines: Visit the stunning seaside resorts of Tenby, Saundersfoot and Swansea, and explore some great traffic-free coastal routes including Millennium Coastal Park, Swansea Bike Park and the Brunel Trail.

These coastal routes are threaded together by quiet and often hilly lanes through Pembrokeshire's scenic countryside - perfect for the more experienced cyclist looking for long distance, challenging 2-wheel adventures through this stunning part of Wales.

The Celtic Trail East begins in Swansea, either following the Low Level Route - National Route 4 between Swansea and Chepstow - or High Level Route - National Route 47 between Neath and Newport.

National Route 4 takes you along the coast to Bridgend then inland via Bridgend, Pontypridd and Caerphilly to the end of the route at Chepstow

National Route 47 follows canal-side routes, forestry tracks, and country parks, via Neath and Pontypridd. Much of the route is traffic-free and the map also features the popular Taff Trail and Valleys Cycle Network routes.
