2019 Estate Fayre and NGS Open Gardens

2019 Estate Fayre and NGS Open Gardens

Details

This a highlight in our calendar as we showcase exhibits for sale from artisans, makers, creators and businesses who live and work on the Estate and in the nearby area. In 2018 we welcomed over 2000 visitors to our fifth Estate Fayre and NGS Open Garden and we had over 30 artisan stands.

Visitors will be welcome to wander through the gardens on Sunday 19th May 2019 from 11am to 4pm at the Glanusk Estate Fayre and NGS Open Garden, now in its sixth year.

Sam, our new Estate Gardener, has been making some significant changes to the garden and will be on hand to chat to during the day. Penmyarth Church will be open and visitors on the day will be the first people to enjoy the Glanusk Oak Collection Tour.

This year we are very excited that Georgie Newbery of Common Farm Flowers will be giving a talk in the afternoon on ‘Growing cut flowers for pleasure and profit’ whilst demonstrating how to hand tie a bouquet, she will be available for questions and book signings. We will also have a rousing performance from the Monmouth Male Voice Choir. Terry Walton everyone’s favourite allotmenter is returning again this year and will be giving a talk in the morning, answering your questions and signing books.

Throughout the day there will be talks, demonstrations, tours, activities, delicious refreshments from our popular family tea tent, Sugarloaf Catering, The Parsnipship, Welsh Venison Centre and Bubbles and Berries Prosecco Bar. The Fayre will feature exhibits of works for sale from people who live and work on the Estate as well as external artisans and demonstrations. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
