Dig out your wellies – it’s time for Arty Parky. As the weather changes to chilly winds, and parents wonder what to do with the kids during half term – Head4Arts has the answer: dig out the wellies, wrap up warm and join Arty Parky.

As featured recently on BBC Wales’ Off the Beaten Track presented by Kate Humble, this free outdoor event takes place at four beautiful parks in Tredegar, Pontypool, Merthyr Tydfil and Caerphilly.

Back by popular demand for its sixth year, families forage natural materials: fallen leaves, sticks, conkers and seeds. Alongside environmental artist Kate Raggett, everyone makes them into spectacular land drawings. The more people join in, the bigger the results.

Participants can take part in Welsh or English – and drop in or stay the day. Most of the park cafés have a special offer on hot drinks or cake as a well-deserved treat.
