Aberavon Beach has something for everyone. Families need look no further for things to do on one of Wales’ longest sandy beaches, which boasts an Aquasplash playground, children’s play areas and grassed open areas providing hours of family fun.
The Celtic Trail, part of the National Cycle network, takes you along the promenade at Aberavon and is one of its most leisurely and enjoyable sections with fantastic views.

Walkers, joggers, cyclists and even skaters are all to be found along the promenade. The distinctive skate park, Aquasplash play pool and adventure playground means that there is something for all. For the adventurous, Aberavon Beach is renowned for its ability to hold big swells and it hosts a number of large scale and prestigious events including a popular beach festival. Aberavon is a surfing ‘hotspot’ and whatever month of the year, you are sure to find a crowd of surfers in search of the perfect wave!

Seaside Award beach. Toilets, refreshments, parking. Lifeguard service provided from 10:00 to 18:00 14 - 17 April, 29 April to 21 May (weekends and Bank Holidays only) and every day 27 May to 3 September 2017. Dogs not allowed on part of the beach May to end September.

By Bus: Service 8 every 20 minutes from Port Talbot Monday - Saturday, hourly on Sunday

By Train: Port Talbot train station is only 2 miles away and there are bus stops along the beach which connect to the train station and the nearest towns of Port Talbot and Neath (with connecting links to Swansea and Cardiff).

By Car: The beach is close to the M4, exit junction 40 from the east and junction 41 from the west and follow brown signs to Hollywood Park, Aberavon Beach.

Parking is available along the seafront promenade or within a selection of nearby car parks.
