About

Originally a fishing port, now a popular seaside resort, Abersoch has a large, relatively sheltered sandy beach on the southeast facing side of the Llyn Peninsula. The beach is considered to be "safe" with no severe currents or rips in normal conditions and a motor boat exclusion zone provides a secure area for bathers. The beach is a renowned centre for sailing and watersports and the town hosts an annual summer jazz festival, a regatta and music festival. Beach huts can be rented by the day or week; enquire at the beach cafes.

There are boat trips available to nearby St Tudwal and Bardsey Island, giving spectacular views and ample opportunity to see a myriad of wildlife. Coastal and inland walking is popular here and Abersoch is a base for several circular walks of varying distance which will appeal to a range of ages and abilities. Nearby Porth Neigwl or Hell's Mouth, is popular for surfing.

Good range of shops, cafes, pubs and other services in the village. Toilets, pay parking. Dog restrictions apply April - end September.
