Ammanford railway station is on the Heart of Wales Line that runs from Shrewsbury to Swansea. It is located half a mile north-west of the town centre off the A484 road; the postcode is SA18 2DD. The station is a request stop; inform the conductor/indicate to the driver for the train to stop. The station is unstaffed; buy tickets on the train. Live Departure screens. Cycle storage racks. When arriving on the train, turn left out of the station; Station Road leads to the A483 – turn right for the town centre.

Train times from 15 December 2019 to 16 May 2020 are:-

Departures for Swansea/arrivals from Shrewsbury Monday to Friday are at 07.19 (from Llandovery), 09.11, 13.28, 17.25 & 21.33; Saturday 08.23, 12.09, 17.13 & 21.11. Sunday trains at 15.13 & 19.37.

Departures for Shrewsbury/arrivals from Swansea Monday to Friday are at 06.49, 10.15, 15.17 & 19.12 (also at 05.40 - Carmarthen to Llandovery); Saturday 05.15, 10.00, 13.58 & 19.04. Sunday trains at 11.58 & 16.21.
