About

The City of Hereford straddles the banks of the River Wye; with a friendly market town atmosphere, Hereford has been the market and commercial centre of the Herefordshire farming communities for hundreds of years.

Hereford is a gateway for the Black Mountains of Wales, Hay-on-Wye (via the A438) and Abergavenny (via the A465).

Hereford railway station is on the South Wales to North Wales route between Newport and Shrewsbury and is the nearest main line station for Hay-on-Wye.
