A designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), National Nature Reserve (NNR) and Special Area of Conservation (SAC), Tycanol is home to more than 400 species of lichens.

Access on foot via a network of public and permissive paths and a bridleway from Pentre Ifan entrance and Tycanol farm entrance track. There is parking at the National Park Authority’s Sychpant Car Park at the beginning of the track to Pentre Ifan farm.
Travelling from Newport on the A487, turn right at the Nevern crossroads and take the minor road to Sychpant Cross.
Accessible by Public Transport: 12 miles from Fishguard & Goodwick station
