Details
Set in the rolling landscape of south east Wales, between Usk and Pontypool, Llandegfedd Lake is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It's an attraction a world away from the relentless pace of modern life, and with 434 acres of water and acres of woodland and grasslands, the reservoir has plenty of things to offer.
With over four miles of footpaths and the Reservoir Trail for walking, three miles of banks for angling and a large sailing area, there's something for all to enjoy.
LLANDEGFED VISITOR CENTRE
The Visitor centre, designed by award winning architects, contains a stylish cafe and display area with panoramic views of the reservoir and water based activities. It definitely has one of the best views in Wales to enjoy with your cuppa! Opens 9am on weekdays and 8am on weekends, school and bank holidays.
WATERSPORTS CENTRE
A watersports tuition and equipment hire service (formerly known as Gwent Adventures) runs from the Watersports Centre. Courses and activities in sailing, windsurfing, power boating, stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing and kayaking will all be available during term time and during the school holidays for children.
FISHING @ LLANDEGFED LAKE
Heavily stocked with bank and boat fishing available for rainbow and brown trout, Llandegfedd Lake is a popular venue for fishing and angling competitions.
As well as sailing and fishing, visitors will be able to select one of four walking trails and picnic. Families with children will be able to play, climb, explore the woodland and enjoy the array of wildfowl that visit and reside around the reservoir which is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest in recognition of its value to wintering wildfowl.
