Details
Nestling on the Clwydian Range, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and very close to the Offa’s Dyke Footpath, Ty Newydd y Llwyn is a perfect base for walking, wildlife-watching and exploring beautiful North Wales.
At 600 feet, the cottage has lovely views across the Vale of Clwyd but from the field just behind, you can see the whole Vale stretching out before you, across to Hiraethog, the coast and Snowdonia. Several footpaths lead from the door and many circular walks are possible without the need for a car. Offa’s Dyke Path is a 15 minute walk away.
Ty Newydd y Llwyn is over 250 years old and has been renovated and refurbished to a high standard of comfort. An inglenook with wood-burner, thick walls and new carpets will ensure a cosy welcome.
The kitchen/dining area is large and high-ceilinged with exposed beams and rafters, well lit with lovely views and cupboards crafted from pew doors and slate. It is well-equipped for the discerning cook and has new appliances including a dishwasher. There are 2 large comfortable bedrooms, one double and one twin, both centrally heated and with antique and contemporary furniture. The bathroom has an original claw-foot bath and separate shower. The entrance hall has ample room for coats, boots and rucksacks and there is a utility with Belfast sink, washing machine and another fridge. The large and rambling garden is a haven for wildlife and has a big vegetable plot, discretely tended by the owners. Produce will be offered to guests when in season.
The medieval towns of Denbigh, with its castle and town walls, and Ruthin are close by, as are several Wildlife Trust reserves. The mountains of Snowdonia, beaches of Anglesey and more castles lie to the West an hour’s drive away while the historic city of Chester is 40 minutes to the East.
