Details

Pinewood caravan park is at Wiseman's Bridge, facing south and enjoying the beautiful coastal scenery of the Pembrokeshire National Park. It is a quiet family run park with just eight static caravans in a lawned area 350 yards from the beach, alonside the coastal path between Amroth and Saundersfoot. Wiseman's Bridge Inn and Shop are adjacent to the beach with its stretches of sand and fascinating rock pools.

There is a drying area with two rotary clothes lines. A block drive gives central access to the caravans so that you can drive your car down it on arival day and unpack your luggage before returning your car to the car park at the top. One caravan has its own parking space close to it to facilitate the use by less mobile guests. Each caravan has a paved path to it and a paved patio area outside with garden furniture.

We have eight 12 feet wide Willerby holiday homes built to a very high standard of comfort and style. Six are 28 feet long and two are 35 feet long. They all hold the Dragon Award for excellence. Each caravan is fully serviced having instantaneous hot water, a gas fire and colour TV in the lounge with its comfortable sprung seating and a kitchen with electric fridge, full size built-in gas cooker (4 rings, a grill and an oven with automatic ignition) and micro wave. A Vacuum cleaner and cleaning aid are included.

The bathroom has a shower with a glass doors, wash basin, heated towel rail and panel and WC. All bedrooms have electric heating. The twin beds in all bedrooms can be setup as doubles or one of them can be replaced by a travel cot - please request this and/or a high chair if you need them on your booking form. Double beds are 4ft 6in wide. All beds have sprung interior mattresses, duvets, pillows and bedspreads but please bring your own bedlinen (pillow cases, bottom and top sheets or duvet covers). If you wish to hire bedlinen at additional cost please notify us when booking. Blankets can be provided on request.

Notes

Pinewood Caravan Park is a very small, compact rural / coastal park comprising of only 8 fully serviced luxury units all of which are for hire. There is no clubhouse or pool. It is set on a slope in a hilly area on the valley side above the bay at Wiseman's Bridge. Lack of apace prevents the siting of a modified caravan even if it were financially viable. Cars can be driven close to the caravans for unloading but are then parked on the wide drive at the top of the site as space prevents parking alongside the caravans. There is a wide block drive giving smooth safe access from the car park to the caravans. Entrance to the park from the road is wide and tarmaced there are no speed humps. Seven of the eight caravans have decking type or solid concrete steps the height of which due to the slope of the site would make a ramp impossibly long. One caravan however has a dedicated parking space in close proximity, and has a wider path. This caravan has only one step and a ramp can be organised should it be required, this van can be requested as we hold it back for customers with mobility problems. All caravans are equiped with remote control television and teletext. We are resident owners living on site with a clear view of the park from the house, we are always on hand on change over days and we offer any help with unloading should it be required. Public transport is sparse and unreliable. Local taxis are useful their numbers can be found in yellow pages in the public phone box on site or we can supply them. A lane leads to the beach some 350yds, bus stop, pub and small shop, it is narrow and steep in parts the walk can be avoided by driving to the bottom and parking at the moment is free. The nearest supermarket Coop is 2.5 miles away in Kilgetty. Mobile phone reception is adequate but not perfect, dependent upon which service you use. Over the years a number of customers with varying disabilities and mobility problems have been accommodated many of whom return each year. The y appreciate not being treated different or as invalids. Wheelchairs can be stored in our garage overnight should it be necessary. The furnishings and bedding are allergen free and we operate a strict no-pets policy, although we must accommodate service dogs we ask that they bring all their own bedding and we contain the let to one caravan only. We can only ask potential users to understand that respiratory problems are a serious disability and any dog in a caravan invalidates its 'alergen free' status. There is no space on site for a free run area for digs. We do not encourage smoking in the caravans and request smokers to do so outside. As we live on site it is almost always under our supervisiton - likewise we are nearly always able to take incoming calls in the event of an emergency, although this is not a 24 hr service there is a night bell should we be required. We greet cusomers on arrival and show them around their caravan and use of the equipment. They do not have to come to reception if presents a problem.
