Hill House is located on a very quiet no through lane on the western edge of the village of Llanrhidian and it provides a tranquil rural setting with large secluded gardens and magnificent views across open fields and the salt marshes of the Burry Estuary.
The driveway provides off road parking for several cars, luggage trailer or boat trailer.
The grounds include front and side lawns, south facing terrace and a large rear garden suitable for ball and racquet games.
The Gower Peninsula was designated as the UKs first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in 1956 and Hill House provides an ideal base for visiting and exploring all of Gowers beaches, attractions and amenities.
Hill House has been in our family for over 100 years and it was extensively renovated in 1990. We have since moved to another family property just 100 yards away and we always personally welcome all guests on arrival.
There are four large airy bedrooms; two double and two twin bedrooms. One of the twin bedrooms is located on the ground floor with diret access to drive, terrance and gardens. An additional single bed can be provided in the upstairs twin bedroom to provide accommodation for up to 9 adults.
There are two sitting rooms and both are equipped with large comfortable suites. The main sitting room has tiled floors, a open log burining fire.FreeView TV, DVD player and video recorder. The secod sitting room has a collection of books and a portable TV.
Large open plan fully equipped farmhouse style kitchen with separate breakfast and dining areas.
Family bathroom upstairs with shower handset & WC and downstairs WC (New separate shower for 2008).
The house is well equipped and has all the facilities that you would expect for a very comfortable holiday.
Welcome pack and first basket of logs for the open fire provided. (Additional logs can be purchased locally)
Cot, high chair, stair gate and child safety fire guard available on request
Well behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement. Please remember to bring a basket or bedding for your pet and that you are in sheep country and dogs are to be kept on leads at all times.
The Gower peninsula is renowned for its wide variety of beaches ranging from small coves to the expansive 3 mile stretch of sand at Rhossili bay - Wales's premirer surfing beach. The peninsular is served by 268 miles of public footpaths that are used by locals and tourists alike. The terrain is is not very taxing and walkers can stroll along the beach front, cliff paths, heathland, wooded valleys and estuary marshes. The round britain costal footpath runs adjacent to Hill House and there are many walks that can be started from the doorstep. There is an abundance of wildlife and the area salt marshes provide a haven for a wide variety of bird life.

Hill House is located on gently sloping ground that has been terraced at the front with a flight of three steps leading up form the drive to the front door. The drive is surfaced in gravel and it gives level access to the house on the western side. The gravel extends up to the front and side patio door and access to the rear door is via the paved rear terrace. The gravel is loose and does not provide an ideal surface for unaccompanied wheel chair users or unaccompanied persons with other mobility issues. There are no special facilities for wheelchair users but with some help access to the ground floor and outside areas should not present a major problem to wheelchair users or other persons with mobility issues. All of the rooms on the ground floor are on the same level and there is the normal step over into the down stairs shower cubicle. A twin bedroom is located on the ground floor with easy access to the downstairs shower room & WC, kitchen and garden (via the patio door). The front and back door ways have an opening width of 27.5 inches and the patio door has an opening of 17 inches. The front and rear doors and the side patio door all have the normal step over thresholds. All of the other doorways on the first and second floor have opening width between 28 and 30 inches. There is a conventional straight staircase leading to the first floor with a step up landing leading to the two double bedrooms and bathroom / WC on the right hand side and the bedroom with three single beds on the left hand side. There is level access to the bathroom / WC from the two double bedrooms. Access the bathroom from the bedroom containing the three single beds is via the small landing with one step down and one step up. On the rear sun terrace there are two sets of three steps leading up to the rear garden and the drive gives level access to the rear garden from the western side.
