Criccieth is set in the most spectacular location surrounded by sea and mountains with friendly Welsh speaking townsfolk who will make you welcome. Criccieth Fair has been held on the 23rd May and 29th June on Y Maes every year since 1284 and there is a firework display on the beach in November. It has two beaches either side of the Castle, the famous ice-cream shop Cadwaladers is just down the road along with Castle Fish & Chips which is hugely popular. Dylan's restaurant (seating inside and outside is at the end of the seafront promenade housed in the Clough Williams-Ellis (Portmeirion architect) designed art-deco glass fronted building, a heads-up to book well in advance which can be done online where their current menu can also be found. The views out over Cardigan Bay are simply stunning taking in Black Rock Sands, Harlech Castle and stretch down the Welsh coastline with the mountains of Snowdonia as a backdrop. Dolphins, porpoises, gulls and seals can be seen at certain times of the year and the starlings swirling at dusk to roost in Winter high over the town are a sight to behold. Locally, there is horse riding, jet skiing, a golf course, boat trips and the Wales Coast Path and a good old fashioned day on the beach. With the West Highland Railway, Portmeirion, Zip World, Abersoch, Caernarfon, Harlech, Betws-y-Coed, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Bodnant Gardens etc within easy reach by car or train. Or you could just park the car up for a few days and relax...

The Wales Coastal Path winds around the coastline along with lots of inland walks with guidebooks and maps available locally.

We will always try and accommodate your booking needs and requests so do please contact me by email or phone. I am your first port of call for any queries you may have during your stay and you will also have contact details for Aeolian's housekeeper who lives 10 minutes away.
