The Huts in the Hills

  • Visit Wales Quality Assured Glamping Accommodation
  • Wales Green Tourism Business Scheme Gold Award

In a woodland clearing in the Black Mountains, four shepherd huts provide off-grid accommodation for the more adventurous traveller.

The huts have been designed to have minimal environmental impact. They offer warmth and comfort in a remote setting below Hay Bluff for groups of up to six people.

From this hideaway beside Digedi Brook, explore the Brecon Beacons National Park on foot, bike or horseback.

The huts are a special place to stay if you love wildlife, nature and the great outdoors.

There are four fully insulated huts arranged around a central stone firepit with BBQ grills. The three sleeping huts each have wood-burning stoves and a comfortable double bed. Bedding, blankets and towels are available on request, or you can bring your own.

The communal utility hut has a kitchen with a wood-burning oven, fridge and basic cooking utensils. At the back of this hut is a modern WC and shower.

The huts are designed to be cosy, comfortable and environmentally sustainable.

A wood-burning stove provides hot water for the kitchen and shower room. A hybrid system consisting of a wind turbine and solar panels provides power. Water is supplied by a nearby natural spring. Grey water is treated via a compost toilet and sand filter.

Biodegradable soaps and cleaning products are provided. To avoid contamination of the stream, only these biodegradable products can be used at the huts.

Recycling facilities are provided.
