Canoeing and kayaking offer a wide range of activities to a broad group of people. From the young to the old, from the casual day-tripper to the dedicated explorer, there is a form of kayaking or canoeing to suit all.
Whats the difference between kayaking and canoeing? In kayaking, the paddler sits down and uses a double-bladed paddle. In canoeing, the paddler kneels and uses a single-bladed paddle.
There are many different forms of the sport, requiring different boats, equipment, skills and water conditions. The four traditional main classifications are sea kayaking, white-water, surf, and canoe, but over the last few years Sit-on-Top kayaks have found a new breed of enthusiast.
Surf-Lines Llanberis lakeshore base gives them easy access to the calm waters of Llyn Padarn, an ideal venue for your Customers first paddle strokes. In their very sheltered launch bay, they introduce the essential skills. The basics are quickly learned and satisfying to use, allowing the group to travel among the bays, and lagoons of Llyn Padarn. With over five miles of lakeshore to explore, theres plenty of absorbing paddling to fill a half-day session. The view of Snowdon from the middle of the lake is also the best in the whole valley!
By the end of the session, theyll be confident enough to paddle unsupervised in settled conditions.
CHILD POLICY - Participating children must be 8 years or over. Parents are welcome to leave their children with Surf-lines for the duration of the session. If they upgrade to a full Adventure day, children can be left all day. Instructors will supervise the group at lunch time.
