Ceredigion museum is a celebration of Welsh heritage, depicting the history of this fascinating county from across the ages. From farming to food, clothes and transport, the museum is home to a number of valuable collections. Along with the permanent exhibition, the museum is host to lively events and temporary exhibitions throughout the year.
Ceredigion museum is a vibrant and welcoming place to visit and is housed in a restored Edwardian theatre that has been described ‘one of the most beautiful museum interiors in Britain'.
SCHOOL VISITS & SCHOOL HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES
Visits to Ceredigion Museum are free and are a fantastic opportunity for school children to learn about the history and culture of Ceredigion. Schools and colleges are welcome to visit the Coliseum at any time during normal opening hours (10am-5pm).
Throughout the school holidays the museum runs activities for children, with fun fact quiz sheets, workshops and events.
The MUSEUM CAFE AND SHOP
The museum shop is a unique shop selling gifts and souvenirs and a large range of wonderful items from postcards, to paintings, pocket money toys, arts and crafts, aprons and tea-towels based based on the museum’s collection and historical and factual books depicting Ceredigion’s fascinating past. Local artists and crafts people from the area also sell their products in the shop.

Heritage is about so much more than dates and famous people and places and this audio tour captures stories that you would normally hear in a pub, at a school reunion or over coffee, The town walk begins and ends at the museum and will be of interest both to residents of Aberystwyth and to visitors who wish to learn more about the town’s colourful history and the characters, events and stories that have shaped it.

The museum is above the Tourist Information on Terrace Road, 100 metres from the sea front.
The main entrance stairs and lift to the Museum and Coliseum Coffee House is within the Tourist Information and Museum Gift Shop.
Short term parking spaces in local streets and along the Promenade: these are often full by 10 am. There are car parks on Park Avenue about 5 minutes walk from the museum.
There is a Park and Ride service with parking from Park Avenue
