About

New Quay’s Harbour Beach on the Mid Wales Cardigan Bay Coast has stunning golden sands to rival any and has become a favourite for fishing and water sports enthusiasts. New Quay’s other beaches are Dolau & Traeth Gwyn.

Facing north east and located within the waters of Cardigan Bay, New Quay Harbour beach is backed by steep limestone cliffs and the town of New Quay. The beach is small, sandy and sheltered by the harbour wall. The coastal waters and coastal belt is designated as the Cardigan Bay Special Area of Conservation and Aberarth, Cerreg Wylan Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), confirming the high conservation status of the area.

One of Wales' most popular sailing centres, New Quay was formerly a centre for shipbuilding. The town has several shops, cafes and and range of local services. Organised excursions are available, including boat trips to see seals and dolphins which are often spotted off the coast here. New Quay also marks the half way point of the Wales Coast Path.
